Joomla Site Visitor Tracking, Analytics, and Stats
Site Visitor Tracking, Analytics, and Stats Installation Guide
If you have a website powered by Joomla, you may want to track your site's visitors and monitor your website's traffic. By following these steps, you can set up a counter on your Joomla website:
Go to fraudLog.com and get a website visitor tracking account
Log in to your fraudLog account, click on "Add New Project", and select a counter or tracking widget (all styles function the same
Enter your Joomla site's web address and name your project accordingly
Select "Joomla" from the list of code types and continue with the tracker generation
Select and copy your new Joomla JavaScript/HTML-based website statistics code
Log in to your Joomla administrative panel
Mouse over "Extensions" and click on "Install/Uninstall"
Download the TraceMyIP for Joomla Plugin to your computer. Then select the file to upload in the Joomla plugin page, and click "Upload"
Mouse over "Extensions" and click on "Module Manager". Open 'TraceMyIP for Joomla'
Select "No" for "Show Title", and make sure it is enabled. Also, experiment with the "Position" variable to see what suits you best. We recommend "footer". Alternatively, any header element would also work well if you have a lot of content on the site. Using the module in the header would insure that the visitor's activity is captured in the first place before all content is loaded. You can experiment with different positions. Since not all positions are available in a given template, you may need to try a few until you see the tracker appearing on your pages.
Paste your visitor tracking / analytics code into the box on the right
Under the "Module Assignment" section (not available in all versions of , select option "On All Pages"
Click on "Save" or "Apply" at the top to save your changes
Visit your Joomla site and make sure the tracker now shows on ALL pages of your Joomla managed website
