[Payment Failure] notice is displayed on my account status page

When you login to your account, your account status page displays a "Payment Failure" notice. This indicates that if no further steps are taken on your part, your subscription will be cancelled and the account will flagged for deletion.

To resolve the issue, please follow the steps below.

If you subscribed using PayPal:

PayPal is unable to pay for the subscription with the payment method that was originally specified to fund the subscription. Even if your PayPal account has sufficient funds to pay for the subscription and your original payment method, such as a credit card is no longer available for issuing a payment, PayPal will not be able to use your account balance. To correct the issue:

  • Login to your PayPal account, find the original fraudLog subscription transaction
  • On the bottom of the subscription creation page, update the payment funding method
  • The "Payment Failure" notice on your fraudLog account should be removed from your account on the next PayPal payment attempt which generally occurs within 48 hours.

If you subscribed using a Credit Card:

Your recurring credit card payment was not successful as your credit card payment was declined by your bank. Please update your credit card information on file.
  • Login to your fraudLog account
  • On the bottom of the status page, click on the manage link located to the right of your "Payment Type"
  • Update your current credit card information and verify that it is correct before you click on the "Proceed" button. If your address verification returns a decline, call your credit card issuer and verify the billing address on file
